On May 26-27, 2025, three representatives of CONCORDIA Academia – staff and volunteers involved in adult learning activities – participated in a Job Shadowing at the Heinrich Pesch Haus in Ludwigshafen, Germany. This experience has given us an in-depth understanding of how adult learning centers operate at community level, with a focus on inclusion, efficiency and sustainability.

Participants observed the host organization’s infrastructure and organization of day-to-day activities, looking at the integration of inclusive practices at both operational and pedagogical levels. Discussions on partnerships and collaborations highlighted effective ways of building and maintaining institutional and community networks. The exchange with team members facilitators/trainers and coordinators of training programs/services allowed to understand the process of creating and evaluating adult learning programs focused on learners’ needs, active citizenship, digital inclusion and European values. Presenting their own experiences and exploring common interests facilitated mutual learning and opened up possibilities for future collaborations within Erasmus+ and beyond. This mobility has provided CONCORDIA Academia with valuable insights to improve the organization and implementation of adult learning programmes by adopting inclusive practices, sustainable strategies and effective methods of collaboration.
